Speckles & Noise

These jpg textures can be applied to anything from logos and illustrations to photos and artwork . In Photoshop , simply apply the texture on a layer above, and set that layer’s blend mode to screen. Doing this applies a subtle grunge noise effect. You can tweak the levels of the noise layer, if you would like to adjust more or less noise. You can even add multiple different noise layers setting all blend modes to screen for even more variety.

Included in the pack FREE are 15 Noise brushes created from these jpgs for using on your artwork in any way you wish! ENJOY!

Paper Pack: 30 Digital Papers

The Paper Pack: 30 Digital Papers is an amazing collection of digital papers that were made by scanning in top quality artisan art and handmade papers. I’ve found that using real paper scans over papers that are made 100% digitally tend to make a more authentic looking end result, and also allow for some really cool variance that organic processes tend to have over purely digital ones.

It is also important to note that all the different colors shown are actually different colored pieces of paper, and not just one color of paper re-colored digitally several times. Because of this, each different color has its own flavor of characteristics that will not be identical to other ones. I’ve found that minimally processing color digitally at the initial stage allows future digital color changes to look more realistic and natural.

Key Features:
• 30 Papers
• 23 Seamless Repeating Papers (made from the 30 full size textures)
• .JPG Format 15″ x 15″ @ 300 DPI (4500x4500px)
• Most seamless repeats are 250 x 250px (four are 500 x 500px) and .JPG format

Not all of these papers are included as small repeats suitable for web design, but 23 of the 30 are. The ones that I left out are due to the repeat simply being too noticeable, and I didn’t want to offer anything that I wouldn’t personally use in a design. The vast majority of the repeats are 250 x 250px, although 4 of them are 500 x 500px to help reduce the appearance of the actual repeat. The larger repeats tended to be the papers that were hand made and had a whole lot of interesting texture going on.

The characteristics of these papers range from very subtle paper textures to much more aggressive hand made papers that have some really unique characteristics to them. I tried to include a nice variety to play around with, so have fun!

Distress Texture Pack Vol. 1

The textures in this pack were created by hand using various methods (textured cloth, sandpaper, peeling apart plastic sheets…etc etc) then optimized in photoshop to be a crisp black and white without any texture of the original paper left behind. These textures are ideal for apparel design and all the letters in the cover image were created using different textures from this pack. 26 textures in total in 300 DPI .jpg format.

The Complete Vintage Design Arsenal

Distress Texture Pack: Vol. 2

The Distress Texture Pack Vol. 2 includes 30 high quality, high resolution textures that were all made by hand and then digitally perfected for use in your designs and illustrations.

Key Features:
•30 Textures
•300 DPI
•15″ x 15″ / 4500px x 4500px
•.JPG Format

Be sure to view the images at full scale to see the details of every texture a bit better. Please note that the swatches show the entire texture at a much smaller scale. These textures are BIG to be usable on your large format projects.

Vintage Writing 2 Brushes

Vintage Writing 1 has been retired, but oh what a find I have for you! These are just wonderful samples/fragments of old handwriting, which I have meticulously extracted to give you the best quality possible! Some are a little grungy. Some are post cards; some from letters; and others from handwritten books. Some are from the late 1800’s and some a bit later. Some are ornate and some just everyday writing, some are not in English, but I am totally, 100% charmed by all of them! Use them to add texture and interest to your projects – they add such a feel of intimacy! Can you tell I have a passion for all things vintage?

I just have to share with you the text of one of the items included:

“Mr. R. W. Wright Rome: We went to hear J. Caesar in the Forum today but he had such a small audience he refused to speak and the Romans wouldn’t give the money back at the box office. That’s the way Rome does. We greatly enjoyed your letters today especially the latest bulletins. Lee is such a big man in Rome the togas are too short. We are trying to take your advice and do as Rome does but it generally does us first. With Love to all M & L, 5/15 – 1908″

The writer’s sense of humor reminds me of my own Father!

Rolled ink textures volume 01

These rolled ink textures were born from a desire to have a set of ink textures at hand. The textures have been created with black ink and rolls (one foam roll, and one rubber roll).

The type of effects obtained ranges from subtle noise to heavy smudges, and can have a variety of applications: noise pattern, background color, ink wash, rough borders, and more.

The textures have been scanned in very high resolution (5000 x 7800 pixels on average) @ 800 dpi or more.

Leather billfold texture pack

These worn leather textures have been extracted from two leather billfolds that my wife and I own. They’re pretty big (an average of 4553×5975 pixels), and have been scanned at either 1200 or 2400 dpi.

There are two different leather grains in the pack, and a total of six leather textures. As a bonus, I also extracted two textures of the grainy fabric that’s used to line the inside pockets of the billfolds. This makes for 8 textures total.

The leather of both billfolds is worn, as these are the ones we use on a daily basis. The pack works wonders to distress design elements (just paste one of the texture in a layer mask). As a matter of fact, the copy on the hero shot for the product has been weathered using one of them. You could also use the textures as part of the texture build-up for a background.

The Complete Vintage Design Arsenal

Dirty plastic noise texture pack

These noisy and dusty textures come from an unlikely place. You know these little plastic pockets in billfolds to hold extra credit and ID cards? Well, now you know.

I’ve had that leather billfold for a while. It’s old, and all worn out. It’s been at the bottom of countless pockets and bags. And it has accumulated a lot of dirt, dust, and other lint particles.

I pulled out these little plastic pockets, cut them down in flat “sheets,” and scanned them at very high resolution (on average 5250×7400 pixels @ 2400 dpi). These textures are the result of that scanning process.

The pack contains 4 variations of each textures:
– Black speckles on black (JPGs)
– Black speckles on transparent background (PNGs)
– White speckles on black (JPGs)
– Transparent speckles on black (PNGs)

Put them on Screen or Multiply, and noise things away. Add a specific color overlay, and add subtle speckles to your backgrounds. Paste them in your layer masks for subtle weathering.

  1. Dear Design Cuts:

YOU ARE… Literally, making me cry tears of joy, I was LONGING for the script/text/receipts/etc. overlays and the maps are FABULOUS!

I have NEVER seen a Bingo Card except from when I used to play every Saturday in another life! The memories that brings back. I still have my Bingo Chips. I can’t bring myself to throw them out!

LOVE the receipts and all that stuff, I absolutely cannot name everything here.

I’m in the middle of taking a Pinterest class and the images I could make with ALL the beauties in this package. I’ve been looking all over.

The papers are so versatile and different from any we’ve had before. Love the circles or bubble thingies – all I know is they are round! ;)

THIS bundle was truly MADE FOR ME. Did I ask for the script and text, I was going to, these days I’m lucky I remember who I am ;)

I WILL ABSOLUTELY ENJOY making my video promo for this one AND bringing this to my community, if they don’t feel like I do, well… Then there is something wrong.

Last, but not least… ALWAYS love the additions by Denise Love from 2 Lil’ Owls.

IF YOU are sitting on the fence… GET OFF NOW!!!!!!!!

I am here to tell you, I have been personally looking for script/text overlays for the last few months and they are VERY expensive ~ IF you can find anything decent!

YOU COULD NOT get EVEN ONE of these package for what the ENTIRE bundle costs!

    In truth and sincerity,

It wld be nice to be able to create our own bundles sometime. Like pic three or five from say 10 options for a certain one time low price like you offer here. Just a thought.
STILL …. an unbelievable deal for sure.

    • Tina Muller says:

Thanks for the kind words, and for the suggestion. I definitely really like the idea, but it may take some finagling around. :)

  7. jerry jones says:

I’m with MB, I already have some of the features in this bundle, and a pick and chose idea sounds rather interesting!
You guys seem to find great deals, keep up the good work.

    • Tina Muller says:

Thank Jerry! I’ll definitely get the guys to look into this. As I said it may be a little complicated, and therefore take some time, but I’ll see what I can do. :)

  8. Derek says:

Yawn…these trendy pre-made hipster logo badges and design elements are everywhere these days. Designers should avoid trends, not embrace them so much.

I bought your last arsenal which included some cool fonts, but not really feeling this one because there are too many items not worth using. The textures are always handy however.

    • Tina Muller says:

      Hey Derek,

Thanks for your feedback. We totally agree that trends aren’t usually worth paying attention to, rather it’s the fundamentals of design are that are really essential.

However, beyond just being perceived as a ‘trend’, the vintage style logos are helping a lot of the community to create some really fantastic work that they may not be able to achieve otherwise. Whether the vintage trend passes or not, the hand-made artistry in these items do let people create some really great results.

We totally recognise that they may not be for you, and of course that’s totally fine. However, we carefully listen to which items will help our folks the most, and we always try to provide bundles that will benefit every members of our community and fit their needs.

Honestly, we really appreciate you taking the time to leave this feedback, and we’ve definitely made a note for future bundles. I hope you continue to enjoy the site, and that you’re getting great use from your new fonts :).

    I see it a bit differently….

(My goal here is to engage in discussion, and not to become a source of division or conflict with anyone.)

Even with the items I already own, more than half of them would be new additions for me. A few weeks ago I almost purchased one of the items included for the same amount as this entire bundle costs. I ended up purchasing something else and put that item on a wishlist. Lo and behold…. not only will I be getting that item, but a lot of other resources as well. So even though I will have some duplicates, I am still getting a fantastic deal on the items that will be new for me.

It is a simple matter of the odds here. Sooner or later, if DesignCuts keeps arranging for such wonderful deals on “best-selling” resources, there are going to be some of us who have already picked up some of those best sellers. That’s why they are best sellers to begin with. People are already buying them.

If I was paying twice or three times as much for the deal as I am, I would probably feel a little more frustrated that I already have some of the items, but I’m still looking at what would I pay for the items that would be new for me. That is what I make my final decision on in such situations.

For this current deal, I am still WAY ahead in terms of savings.

I do understand that others may not be getting the same level of benefit.

So my personal preference would be to stay with these all-in-one deals.

My concern with going to a pick-your-items type bundle is that there would be times where I find I want ALL the items and then would need to make two purchases. :-(

(I’d still get them both, mind you, but I would need at least 4 weeks in which to be able to do so. It’s a budget thing!) :-)

Whatever is decided for the future, I appreciate that you all seek to make sure that each bundle offered here at DesignCuts does not include items from previous bundles.

    • I don’t think I have any of these, there might have been one or two, I can’t remember as I looked first thing when it was released, that I was not as excited about in the bundle – I am only speculating as I believe I loved them all because I was looking for this type of bundle, but follow me here…

The thing is, most of us use Photoshop and/or Illustrator (Photoshop here, learning Illustrator), or perhaps you use Photohshop Elements, you might not think you’d use those one or two today, but I’d bet… they’d come in handy another day.

      – What I’d like to see is more examples of what Design Cutters are doing with them to spark my own imagination. Sometimes we have to see something to think: “Geez, I didn’t think I’d use that or I didn’t think I used that font or element or item, in that way ~NOW… I’m glad I got it!”

      – This happened to me with one of the font bundles a few font bundles back!
I was fairly new to Design Cuts and I passed up on one of the font packages. Then I watched a CreativeLIVE class on how to use “Open Type Fonts” in a FREE class on Fonts/Text, etc. with Khara Plicanic. The thing was… I had NOT understood what Open Type Fonts were until then or the difference between Desktop and Web fonts. All I knew was there was a “separate” price for the desktop version and ANOTHER price for the web version. I digress… One of the fonts in the class had been featured in the Design Cuts Font package I passed up.

I was ready to kick myself (but I was so upset I might have hurt myself) as I NEVER thought of using that font in the way it was used in the class. But… the font bundle was no longer available AND IF I purchased the font alone it would cost MORE than the ENTIRE Design Cuts Font Bundle I passed up ~A LOT MORE!!!

However… Design Cuts in THEIR WISDOM brought the font package back as an upsell (additional choice) when the next font package was offered and…
“What do you think I did?”

YOU GOT IT, I bought that font package I passed up on and was thrilled to death!

With all this babble, MY point, sometimes we need to see examples of how things are used! I realize this is not the same as having a duplicate version, but the value of the rest of the package is still better than buying one of the elements alone, which will cost as much or more as the ENTIRE Design Cuts Bundle.

I vote for the Bundles to stay, AND if Design Cuts chooses, they could have a mix’n’match as an ADDITIONAL offer in between.

There is TOO MUCH value in the Bundles to give them up in my opinion, but what do I know! I, for one, would be VERY SAD to see the bundles go the way they are! There are many that buy that might not be able to buy as often. We have different levels of success points here and while success is more times than not, NOT related to money, sometimes it is as success and budget go hand-in-hand for artists.

I hope this share was NOT out of line!

      • Tina Muller says:

        Hey Roz,

Not at all, we always really appreciate your feedback.

I completely see where you’re coming from with the wanting to see how other Design Cutters use the resources. Whenever we do get a community creation through that relate to a currently running bundle, we always try to show it off, as we understand how important it is to see how certain elements could be used. This is also the reason why we offer the tutorials.

I’ve made a big note here though for us to give you even more examples and inspiration for how to use these resources. Perhaps quick ‘mini examples’ of potential outcomes would be just as helpful as the comprehensive tutorials that we publish?

Either way, I’ll speak to the team to see of there is anything we can come up with that will show our currently running bundles in more detail and in ways that spark more ideas of how to use them. :)

    • Tina Muller says:

Thank you so much for your comment, Louis. I really like your idea and way of thinking, as well as your honesty. I can certainly understand both sides, and I really don’t think there is a right or wrong in this case. It’s really a matter of preference. :)

If we do decide to offer a pick and mix bundle it would most likely not be a decision that would affect the entire way we offer design resources, but simply a one off fun way of choose what you want. It would definitely be interesting to see what kind of resources people go for.

  10. Julie Meredith says:

Many of the projects in my portfolio use Design Cuts resources (even if the title doesn’t directly state that). In addition to the standard print/web work though… here are links to some of the other ways in which I’ve used my bundle goodies. Maybe they will help spark ideas for others :)

Thanks so much, Julie! I always love your motion graphics!I really think that these examples will give our community some awesome ideas of how to use some of our resources. Thank you! :)

  12. Nicole says:

I had promised myself “I won’t buy next deal at DC … only the one after” (I could say that because ALL of them are amazing).
BANG ! you just come with a deal where I find so many elements I love that I already forgot my promise :-(
I have a question guys : could you pls hit “pause” for a sec’ … giving me time to play with my goodies ?. Pliiiiizzzz
    Thanks ;-)

  13. Ann says:

    Hi all,

Looks like another great deal, I spend far too much money here ;)

Can anyone tell me how big the old maps are in pixels, they just look fantastic!

    Ann

    • Tom Ross says:

Thanks a lot Ann :). The old maps are great aren’t they? The colour images are 3600X3600px, which is pretty high-res. The black and white images are 2500X2500px, which is still a very decent size. I hope this helps, and we’d love to see how you use them.

Amazing pack! Just purchased the font pack a few days ago, and I am now downloading this pack! You guys and girls are amazing for selling us these awesome deals! I am a screen printer and these packs are perfectly aimed in my direction. Thank you!!!

    • Tina Muller says:

Thank you so much for the kind words, Kris! It means so much to all of us in the team. I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying our resources so much, and that they help you with your professional work. If possible we’d love to see what you create with your new elements, so please do send us some of your work.

  15. Hey DC Crew: another awesome deal. I’m getting it this week as soon as I’m back from vacation.
I’ve lately discovered the work of Dustin Lee at RetroSupply Co – awesome resources. It so amazing to see some of his great sets in this deal. I totalled up the value – the RetroSupply Co elements are alone worth $85!!!!! Super pumped.
The crazy thing is this – I don’t have these particular sets of Dustins – so it’s super cool. Have been eyeing his “American Bundle” for some time and the Logo Mockup set is super high quality.
Bravo Design Cuts – spreading the love!!!!

    • Tina Muller says:

Thank you so much, Tom. That’s awesome that you actually managed to grab a particular set of resources with this deal, that you’ve been looking at anyway. Great stuff. I really hope you’ll love working with them.

    • Dustin Lee says:

      Hi Tom,

Thank you so much for the kind words about my RetroSupply goods. It feels great to know people find the work useful. You made my day!

      Enjoy the bundle : )

  16. Su Hall says:

Genius! It tickled me to pieces to see Vicki’s parts in this bundle! I love to see the ‘marriage’ of digital scrapbooking/art-journaling with the web design community. All of my online friends are in one or the other. It’s neat to see them mixed together. The vintage thing is always going to be popular. So, I suppose, that is the common denominator. Or, Photoshop. (I am way too analytical! LOL) I love it all! Just got mine and am downloading now!
Thank you for another awesome deal!! I am really looking forward to the tutorials that spring up from this bundle!

    Su

    • Tina Muller says:

Thank you so much Su! It’s awesome that you know one of the designers. Really cool. :) So pleased to hear you’re enjoying this bundle.

As a recent graphic design and illustration university grad this deal is fantastic. I’m still super broke from school, but I thought I would treat myself to this pack. There’s a lot of great textures that I can use for posters and other freelance projects I’m doing, so hopefully some of these items will help make my money back ten fold (at least)! Can’t say I’ll be able to buy every deal that comes up, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on this site.

    • Tina Muller says:

Welcome to the community, Bonnie! I really hope you’ll enjoy it here. I hope that this bundle will hep you get the ball rolling for your freelance career. If you create anything with your new resources, please do send us some of your designs. I’d love to see what you’re working on.

Another deal I just couldn’t ignore! What’s this… second or third I’ve got? You guys are doing good work especially for small design companies who can’t afford to “splurge” all that money for each individual pack. I’ll be a long time customer and I can guarantee I’ll recommend many others to your site! Keep it up!

    • Matt Slightam says:

Thanks Matthew! It’s great to hear that the packs are useful to design companies, we did very much have that in mind when we set up the site (as someone who’s been freelance, and now as well as being part of the DC team also runs a design agency it’s something that’s very close to my heart!) – as well of course as putting together packs which are really useful to the design community at large :D

  19. Dustin Lee says:

Just wanted to drop a quick note and thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing bundle.

Thank you for curating such awesome goods and providing massive value to designers!

    • Tina Muller says:

You’re so welcome, Dustin! We’re so happy to be working with such awesome designers, as yourself. Keep up the amazing work! :)

:D Thanks so much Jordan! This deal really is outstanding. I absolutely love the maps and French scripts.

  21. Bea Rosenleaf says:

Fairly new to this design stuff and love learning. Love these design packs you keep coming up with. Now to find the time to sit and create!

One question. I do not have Illustrator…so is there any other way to change those vector images (like the logo you did here)?

    • Tom Ross says:

Hey Bea. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, for such great feedback. We actually spoke with all the designers involved, and ensured that virtually all the logo templates also include Photoshop compatible .psd versions. This means that even if the regular full priced product is Illustrator only, when you get them via this bundle, you’ll have no issues working in Photoshop. We just knew how many people in the Design Cuts community are Photoshop users, so wanted to accommodate this. I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, we’re all here to help.

      • Hey Tom! Thanks so much for the quick response. That’s so awesome. You guys think of it all! Can’t wait to sit down and try to design something. I’ve purchased almost all of your deals since you began. Now all I need is some time and an idea to get busy using this stuff!

And I love your tutorials! Well written, easy to follow.

You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!

        • Tina Muller says:

Hey Bea, Thanks so much for your kind words! We always try to cater for all possibilities. :) I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the bundles and our community. If you need more inspiration yo can always browse our tutorial section on our website, and you can also filter by the type of resource you’d like to use. :)

  22. Aaron Marsh says:

Cheers to Vicki Robinson for being the only one to correctly use ppi and not dpi.
    (sorry it just bothers me)

  23. i really like all the stuff available in this package. i am really new to this design/art (i.e.) i am still learning how to use my mac. so, is this hard for a newbie to figure out how to use this? am I able to mirror image the print outs? am i able to cut out-digitally- what i don’t like and just use what i like. for example, am I able to delete the names of companies in the mega americana bundle and put in some other name using the same font?
the last word processing program i learned how to use was Lotus 1-2-3.
no i don’t still use dial-up to connect to the internet : )
    thanks.

    • Tina Muller says:

Hey Julie, and welcome to the community! I really hope you’ll enjoy it here.

It’s hard to say whether it’s easy or not to get started with graphic design. I think once you get sucked into it you do get the hang of it really quickly, but as all new things it takes a little time. But honestly, I think it’s time well spent. :) I think the easiest way to start figuring out how to use your new resources and get to grips with the whole design process and Photoshop is to start with tutorials. You can find some great tutorials on our website at http://www.designcuts.com/deals-category/all/, and if you want I can point you towards some of the easier beginner ones. The Banners you’re referring to all come with the fonts, which you can download for free (all the details are in the read me file within the resources’ folder), which means that you can definitely change the wording. Also if you ever get stuck with any of our tutorials, or a personal design project, you can always email us at hello(a)designcuts.com, and either myself or Tom are more than happy to assist with any design questions.

  24. Hello DesignCuts!

Thanks so much for let me join and participate in this bundle and providing awesome digital goods for designers. Keep up the amazing work! :)

    • Tina Muller says:

Thank you Adrian, for letting us work with you! We absolutely love your work and resources. It’s an honour for us to be working with so many, amazingly talented people. :)

  25. Pat Dumont says:

Good morning a few days ago I signed up for the $29 package. I paid thru Pay Pal. Nothing seems to happen . Paypal has not sent charge thru and I cannot get mu downloads. What am I doing wrong.

    • Tina Muller says:

Hey Pat, It looks like the transaction wasn’t actually completed. New security measures now add a final “Complete purchase” button, which means that PayPal, actually directs you back to our website, where you complete the purchase. This is a pretty new system, and is very easily overlooked. I’ll drop you an email now to get the purchase all sorted for you.

  26. Nathan Pye says:

A brief description on the download page of what is in each of the parts of the pack would really help!

It’s nice knowing who made the pack but I want to know what is in it before I download it.

    • Tina Muller says:

Hey Nathan, Thank you very much for your feedback. We’re actually already working on adding a more transparent and informative way of downloading our resources, where you can see exactly what items are in which download link. In the meantime, I’d suggest downloading the helpful documents first. There you will find a PDF guide, explaining which resources are included in which part of the download.

  27. Pen Hunt says:

What a fabulous collection! This one is impossible to resist. I will definitely be purchasing it.

    Thanks for sharing.

  28. OMG! So much awesome in this bundle!!! I am so glad I picked this up!

    • Tina Muller says:

Thanks so much for the kind words, Elijah! How are you getting on with your new vintage resources?

      • These items are amazing! They have already paid for themselves! I have saved so much time using them! Nicky Laatz’s logo templates have helped me to complete concepts for several clients and Vicky Robinson’s stuff is overwhelmingly AWESOME!!!!! DesignCuts Rocks! I have bought just about every deal you guys have put up! So much value here thank you so much to all the wonderful artists and folks at DesignCuts who contribute to these wonderful bundles!

        • Tina Muller says:

Thank you so much for your kind words, Elijah! It’s so great to hear that you’re really enjoying your new resources, and I hope you’ll get loads of use out of them. If you create anything with your new design elements, please do send us some of your work. We’d love to see what you’re working on!

I am trying to purchase this deal (The complete Vintage Design Arsenal – 750 + Creative items) In the past if I purchased a similar deal (which I have) I was still permitted to purchase past expiration date. Would love to have this deal. (I am in middle of moving from east coast to west coast so life is a little crazy!) Any chance I can still buy? huge fan of 2 lil owls! thanks, best wishes, terry nordstrom

  31. Erika says:

Wow! I missed this. How can I purchase this again?

    • Tina Muller says:

I’m afraid this deal is now well and truly finished, so I won’t be able to set you up with this. The Complete Vintage Design Arsenal is however a brand new deal, whihc hasn’t been re-run yet, so we will most definitley bring it back again. I’ll be sure to send you an email when it is live and available again.

  32. Mandje says:

Too sad, I missed too this deal. How can I get it again ? It’s too hard to wait days, months, years after re-up again.

I’ve just captured some images and thought about using elements such as these, a “grand collection” like this would be most convenient!

    Thanks!

  34. Oh no I missed it!! I was waiting for an invoice to be paid that should have been paid last week :( I really hope this deal comes up again soon, I really really want this deal!! x

  35. Hello! This is the MOST RAD collection everrr. I’m so bummed I missed it! May I be added to the list also so that I’m notified the next time you offer a package deal? Thank you so much! Bea

    • Tina Muller says:
