The Creative Journey is a unique insight into how to build a creative business from scratch. Follow along as Jo Fallon shows the Design Cuts community the ups and downs of starting her business The Cotswold Chalkboard.

Jo is back with another episode of the Creative Journey this week, and she is feeling more positive since her last episode when she courageously shared with us that she wasn’t doing very well with the freelance work and her finances. Luckily, so many people on social media related with her story and kindly reached out and offered lots of words of encouragement.

She can now look at the situation with a fresh set of eyes, and after talking with lots of people she realised that quiet times do happen and every business will experience these at some point. The chats have also helped her bounce some ideas and given her some fresh inspiration.

Jo also had a meeting with her account, which not only gave her a chance to discuss her pricing and generating more income, but also brought some work her way. Her accountant would like a mural painted on his wall and he has also put Jo in contact with someone else for more potential work.

Later in the week, Jo is giving as an insight at 6:45 in the morning and she lets us know that is getting up really early. as she aims to achieve more in a day. This meant that for the first time in a very long time, she got to edit the vlog in day light which she really enjoyed.
