Welcome to our brand new Design Basics video series created in collaboration with Eric Vasquez
We’re back with a brand new Design Basics video series with Eric Vasquez. In today’s lesson, we are talking all about shapes. For this tutorial, we’re going to use Adobe Illustrator and we’ll show you the different kinds of shapes you can work with, whether they’re geometric shapes or organic shapes. We will also be looking at the Pathfinder Tool which is a really great and handy tool in Illustrator that can help you combine shapes or knock shapes out from another.

Thank you so much for this tutorial (and all the others). Although I have never used Photoshop or Illustrator, I found it applied to features in Silhouette Design Studio, which is what I use as a home crafter. All of your design tutorials have been very helpful to a person with no design experience or talent. Good design has been my biggest hurdle & I often have to work backwards from the creative stage & refine with design..resizing, changing colors, layout, balance..all of the stuff you’ve helped so much with. Even in just taking better photos. Thanks again.
Hey Joanie,
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and it is amazing to hear that you find our tutorials really transferable between design software, and that you have been able to apply these tips and tricks to Silhouette Design Studio. It really means so much to us to hear that you find our Learn section super handy for building your design knowledge and experience and we hope that you continue to love checking out all of our tutorials to come :).
