Welcome to our brand new Design Basics video series created in collaboration with Eric Vasquez
In today’s lesson, we will talk all about how to set up your documents as print ready PDFs. We’ll begin by using Photoshop to discuss the differences between the Trim, Safety, and Bleed areas and the importance of using them as guidelines. Once we’re done and have flattened the document into a TIFF file, we can move into InDesign and add the finishing touches so it can be ready for print.

Thank you Eric, for creating and sharing this short but very informative tutorial.
Before this is I was making my designs solely inside Photoshop.
At the moment I’m stuck, creating a small 6 page leaflet with information for an Open Call to local artists.
So I very much look forward to learn more from these and future tutorials on Photoshop and InDesign.
Thanks so much for your comment Mark and we’re so happy to hear that you find out tutorials really useful!
We hope that you have great fun picking up some new tips and tricks, and if you have any questions or would like to see a tutorial on a specific subject in future, please feel free to pop us an email :).
