The Creative Journey is a unique insight into how to build a creative business from scratch. Follow along as Jo Fallon shows the Design Cuts community the ups and downs of starting her business The Cotswold Chalkboard.
In episode 11 of the Creative Journey we get to see Jo finish the menu board at the Upper Lock Cafe and it looks absolutely amazing, well done Jo ?.
On Tuesday we get get a glimpse at a poster and Facebook banner that she created for an event and Jo tells us she also received a last minute email from a client asking for a menu redesign. This means she will have to work late in the night, as she admits she can’t go to sleep until she knows the work is done.
Later in the week, Jo makes a big confession, which I am sure most of us designers can relate to. She reveals that she is not the best at managing her time and she is working late most nights to finish work and meet clients deadlines. Don’t worry Jo, we’ve all been there. This made her decide it’s time to structure her work week and manage her time better, especially ahead of her big project to create a product with us.
Jo ends the episode with a quarterly review of the business and she says that so far the biggest challenge has been managing her time and she’s hoping she will get better at it and there will be no more clips of her looking very tired. We really believe you can do it Jo!
