Realistic fur is 28 excellent Photoshop brushes I use for creating a perfect fur when painting animals, and original characters with fur and other wooly and fluffy creatures and objects.
I’ve worked to learn how to draw realistic fur quite a lot of time. And I can be proud that I’m reached this goal (and keeping moving on). To simplify the work process, I created a series of brushes for myself, and here I’d like to share it with you. My brushes allow you to create high-quality realistic fur styles and countless combinations. So I’m sure, you’ll appreciate the assistance that they will give you during your work!
20 brushes remastered from the first ‘fur’ brush sets + 8 new brushes. The brushes depicting fur from the side view (brushes # 2, 3, and 8) have two options for each one, for the left and right hair growth direction. Therefore, there are actually three more brushes in the set — 31.
Included in this set:
- 28+ fur brushes
Zipped File Size: 7.9 MB
File Types Included: .ABR, .JPG, .PDF
Software compatibility: Adobe Photoshop CS3 (and higher)

I just bought these to use in procreate and while they did import, they don’t work very well. Using black and I’m lucky if I get a washed out grey. I wouldn’t recommend.

please, I need a fur brush set for Photoshop ELEMENTS 2022, Not Photoshop. Can you help please?
Gina Tomes –
The designer has recommended using Photoshop as that is what they used to create the brushes, however, you should be able to open .ABR brushes within Photoshop Elements 🙂 We do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, so I am quite happy for you to pick up these brushes and take them for a test drive, and if you are not 100% happy with your new brushes, I am more than happy to arrange a full refund for you.

Hello, These brushes are great but I am wondering if they will work in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo?
Gina Tomes –
Hey Judy,
That’s a great question – having looked into Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo, they should be able to import import the JPEG and PDF files. However, neither of these would be able to import the ABR files – I do apologise for any disappointment this causes. The good news is that do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee and so I am happy for you to take these resources for a spin and if you are not able to work with them, we will be happy to organise a full refund :)

Hello does these brushes work with procreate?
Annabel Smith –
Hey Jenny,
Thanks so much for your comment! These particular fur brushes have been created specifically with Photoshop in mind, however the great news is that Procreate 5 should be able to import ABR brushes. I have attached a link to a video tutorial on importing ABR brushes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD6gb1mP3ac I hope this helps!
