Congratulations! You’ve been assigned your first design project calling for real vintage design. But, oh no! Everything you’ve got is pseudo-1970s! Relax. We’ve got you covered with our new Beginner’s Vintage Ephemera Megapack. (You don’t have to be a beginner to use this pack, there’s something for everyone!) We spent months scouring antiquarian bookstores, estate sales, auctions, and antique stores to curate this pack for the digital design community. And when we say vintage, we really mean it. There’s nothing in this pack that originates after 1905!

The Beginner's Vintage Ephemera Pack

With approximately 175 distinct designs in a variety of formats — .TIFF, .PNG with transparent backgrounds, .JPG, vector (.EPS10, .AI CS2 and CS6), and Photoshop .ABR brushes — you literally have hundreds of combinations that you can use in their own right or combine with your existing vintage design arsenal. The Beginner’s Vintage Ephemera Megapack is perfect for creating branding work, logos, digital scrapbooking, invites, packaging designs, website headers and so much more!

This Megapack is divided into four sections: Old Papers, Maps, Engravings, and Odds & Ends.

Included in this set:

Old Papers

You can never have enough paper textures. We carefully selected the 12 paper textures for this pack and scanned all them at 600 ppi. You get truly old paper textures from the late-1700s and mid-1800s along with Victorian-era French letters we found at a Cleveland-area antiquarian bookseller. As an added bonus, we resized the three largest old paper textures and made them available as 300 ppi versions for those who don’t need the huge originals.

Maps

We chose to include a complete set of 27 maps from an 1883 geography textbook used by Ohio schoolchildren. With their natural ageing, water stains, and foxing, these maps bring your next project that real vintage edge.

All of the 1883 schoolbook maps were scanned in at a ultra high-res of 600 ppi and range from 2800×3500 px to 7500 x 5000 px in size, with most of the maps coming in at 4500×3900 px / 3900×4500 px.

As an added bonus, we’ve included 6 inset mini-maps (at 600 ppi) culled from our collection of Victorian-era atlases. You get the Liberia, Cape Colony (now modern-day South Africa), and the Nile River Delta inset maps from a large 1864 map of Africa and three inset maps — Ancient Greece, Ancient Italy, and New Zealand — from an 1870 atlas. These maps can be used on book covers, packing design, and greeting cards.

Engravings

We proudly offer for your consideration a wide selection taken from two editions of a then-popular atlas as well as a set of curio cabinet engravings.

Includes:
• 1862 Atlas Engravings
• 1870 Atlas Engravings
• 19th Century American Gentlemen

Odds & Ends

As with any collection of vintage ephemera, there is a bevy of items that don’t fit neatly into a specific category, but they bring that certain grace and sophistication lacking in many modern-day designs. We bring you more than 40 of these “odds and ends”: train tickets, wedding invitations, envelopes, customer receipts, programs, and so on.

Specifications and Features:

1. Raster images (.JPG, .TIFF, and .PNG files): These should be compatible with most graphic software packages, including Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paintshop Pro, Corel Draw and more.

2. Vector images: EPS vectors are in Illustrator 10 EPS format and should be workable in most non-Illustrator graphic software programs that can handle vectors. The AI files are available in CS2 and CS6 formats.

3. PS Brushes (.ABR files). For older editions of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, we’ve included small-sized versions of the brushes (under 1000 px). For newer editions, we’ve included medium-sized version that are up to 2500 px.

Software compatibility: .JPG, .PNG and .TIFF files will work with most graphic software. Vector files will work with Adobe Illustrator 10 and newer. The .AI files will work with Adobe Illustrator CS2 and newer. The Photoshop brushes will work with Photoshop CS2 and newer as well as Photoshop Elements.
