Fine Liner Brushes & Patterns

I recently took a trip down memory lane and, while sorting through old school and art college sketchbooks, re-discovered a love for the fine-liner. I used to spend more hours than I probably should have, making patterns, shapes and doodles. I soon realised that there was no brush set that would allow me to return to these roots and do this digitally in Adobe Illustrator. There began my desire for Fine Liner Brushes & Patterns!

The Artifex Forge is therefore pleased to present this authentic and versatile tool kit, which includes a huge range of different pen marks – straight and rough outlines, dots and dashes, stippling, hatching, zigzags and more.

Most of the brushes use the pattern brush feature, which tiles a section along the stroke meaning that the brushes don’t over-stretch on long strokes, streamlining the drawing process and saving you time. I’ve also included a few outline art brushes for shorter sections. Finally, there’s a set of seamless, repeat patterns, which I designed to fill large areas quickly.

If, like me, you find the majority of existing neon effects limiting, lifeless and a little unrealistic then this is the perfect set for you. With these brushes, you can really give your design the wow-factor. So, why are they so much better?

Meet Hatch Master — a powerful brushes set that allows the most expressive artworks without resorting to multiple creative supplies. We made it our mission to introduce a tool for quick sketches and detailed illustrations with distinct textures and shading. And here it goes: these brushes balance classic drawing techniques and modern Asian graphics in order to celebrate and emphasize the aesthetics of rough strokes.

Hatch Master Brushes are hardly about delicate softness. Instead, this set is somehow rough, based on clear lines that will add some rigidity to the drawings. It includes 10 brushes showing a variety of hatching with different stroke densities. Each brush displays a unique hatching pattern, so you can combine a few, and they will look harmonious.
