The Creative Journey is a unique insight into how to build a creative business from scratch. Follow along as Jo Fallon shows the Design Cuts community the ups and downs of starting her business The Cotswold Chalkboard.

In this week’s episode Jo is telling us about the local lifestyle award ceremony she attended and how beneficial this can be for her in establishing connections with potential clients from business in the local area. She is planning of making a short list of people in the attendance and contacting them soon.

Later in the week Jo is moving house and she is giving us an insight into the progress of packing the house and admits that things are a bit chaotic and made it hard for her to work and film this part of the vlog. The moving also gave her a chance to reflect on the last three years she lived in Stroud.

Jo ends the episode talking about how the graphic design job is not necessarily location specific and you can have clients from anywhere, but she really enjoyed working with clients from the area, connecting with people and feeling that she is part of a local community.
