What an incredible first month with Design Cuts. We’re still taken aback by how awesome our community are.
Seriously, regardless of deals or design resources, it’s our community that we’re most excited about.
There was Felice who created a vector version of our team, which we’re now using across our downloadable materials.
There was Ben who wrote not one, but two awesome tutorials for us, which have been enjoyed by thousands of creatives.
There was Mireille, Victoria and Meg who were filling our Facebook page with their beautiful creations, inspired by our regular tutorials and training.
And of course there were the hundreds of you who have left comments, sent emails and generally reached out to us over the past few weeks. So many of you have taken the time to email us just to let us know that you love what we’re doing. Others have emailed to say how much their new resources are helping them and/or their company. Many more have shown us a huge progression in their design work.
It’s this stuff that matters to us, and has us running up and down the office high fiving each other and grinning like idiots. So please keep it coming :).
Today, we wanted to give you guys a little thank you for making our first month so great. You see, we recently crossed over $250,000 in total community savings, which is a milestone we never expected to reach so early.
To celebrate, we’ve decided to give out some prizes. We will do this every time we hit a major milestone, and with each milestone we hit, the prizes will get bigger and bigger.
Today, we’re giving away a brand new Kindle Paperwhite (check out the lovely image below). This is for when you need some downtime away from the pixel-pushing, and it’s a product we and our families love.
All you need to do to enter is leave a comment to this post, telling us what you honestly think about Design Cuts. It can good, bad or indifferent, so long as it’s honest. We’d also really appreciate any and all suggestions on how to make the site better, and how to best help your design work.
This isn’t some tactic for us to grow our community, you’re already our community. This is just a little thank you from us to you.
As an extra thank you, every single person who comments will get a cool pack of blurred background designs that I put together earlier this week. These aren’t available anywhere else. Just be sure to leave your correct email along with your comment, and I’ll personally email them over to you. Who knows, hopefully we can have a chat about design, and I can check out your work!
This pack contains 6 blurred backgrounds, each at 5000px wide. Perfect for web/print design!
IMPORTANT (but boring) stuff:
– We’ll be announcing the Kindle winner Friday 8th November. (There will be one winner, selected at random on Friday 8th November, 4PM GMT time zone)
– Only one entry/comment per person please
– No Design Cuts staff or family of staff can enter (Darren, I’m looking at you!)
– I will email every commenter a copy of the blurred backgrounds pack. Please be patient, as we’re getting so many comments it may take me a while. :)
Good luck, and thanks again for an incredible first month!
– Tom, Matt and Darren (The Design Cuts Team aka The Creative Geeks)
PS: Happy Halloween! We hope you’re working on some spooky designs.
Congrats on a great website — love the variety of submissions.
It’s a great website, I definitely enjoy the freebies and how you link to who is providing them. Hopefully soon I’ll be a paying member too!
So far I love the site and the offers.
I am really enjoying the deals that you offer, especially the ones for training.
