This set is a way to create landscapes easily in your 3D software!
The main inspiration for this kit is the surface of the Moon – craters, rocks, grey-colored ground. Great for creating alien planet landscapes for your sci-fi or space inspired 3D projects!
The concept is the following: for each landscape, there are two maps (or textures): a color map (for texturing the landscape), and a height (displacement) map, that deforms the geometry of the object it’s applied to, based on greyscale values. Lighter values represent higher mountains and hills, and darker areas, lower regions of the landscape. By combining these two maps using a plane and a default material, you get a 3D landscape!
This set also includes a series of 10 planet surface textures, rendered using the maps from the kit. You can use them as backgrounds (these are more suitable for 2D projects as opposed to the rest of the kit).
Note: these maps are not intended to look exactly like the Moon surface, but more like an inspiration of it, using craters, rocks, and the general aspect of the Moon, and are not meant to scientifically replicate the exact appearance of our natural satellite.
Included in this set:
• 20 landscape folders, each containing 2 maps (color + height). Each map is provided as a 4096×4096, 72 ppi .PNG file
• 10 .JPG planet surface textures (4000 x 6000 px, 300 ppi)
• 1 .PDF instructions guide explaining how to create a landscape using these maps in Cinema 4D and Cinema 4D + Octane Render
• 1 .PDF contents preview, for a quick overview of all the different landscapes maps
