Screen Shot – Monitor Screen Mockups

By: Sivioco

You want to present images of something that exists in a digital environment, in a way that’s more interesting than using ordinary screenshots. That’s why I’ve created Screen Shot, a set of monitor screen mockups that enable you to take an ordinary screenshot and instantly make it look as if it’s being displayed on a screen.

Screen Shot – Monitor Screen Mockups

All you have to do is open the appropriate mockup in Photoshop and paste your screenshot inside the relevant Smart Object.

There are 21 mockups in total, each of which display your screenshot from a different angle.

The mockups come in three different sizes: 800 x 600, 1200 x 900, and 1600 x 1200.

They’re perfect for presenting screenshots of an app or website, showcasing works in progress, and creating images for your blog and social media accounts.

If you’re unfamiliar with Smart Objects, don’t worry, Screen Shot comes with a user guide that takes you through the process of adding your screenshot step by step.

Also included is a handy cheat sheet, which enables you to preview each and every one of the mockups. That way you can decide quickly which one is most suitable for displaying your screenshot.

Included in this set:

• Screen Shot – 21 monitor screen mockups for Adobe Photoshop
• User guide – A step by step guide to using the mockups
• Cheat sheet – A handy reference document containing previews of the mockups.

Software compatibility: Adobe Photoshop CS3 and newer

I’m going to be honest here- why is this a thing?
If a client sent me a file that looked like they took a photo of their screen with their phone because they didn’t understand how to take a legit screenshot, I’d straight fire them. I yell at art directors when they do it. I didn’t buy a 5K monitor so you could take a crappy cellphone picture of my work and text it to a producer.
HOWEVER- I can totally see using this to produce a prop used in a tv show, so I will take the free download.

But please don’t make this a thing.

      Hey Jenn,

Thanks so much for your feedback and we are really sorry that you don’t like the idea of this one.

It may not be for everyone and that’s OK- we can completely see where you are coming from. We aren’t suggesting that this is the right or wrong way to present mockups, so my sincerest apologies if it has come across that way! At Design Cuts, we like to offer versatility and in a world that is striving for pixel-perfection, we thought it would be cool to share a real life mockup from a different perspective :)

It’s awesome to hear that you could see this being used in TV though and we really do appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on this!
